I’d like to thank Jeff &Jamie the technicians who replaced both my furnace and water heater. Their professionalism and competence was excellent. They gladly answered all questions about the units I was having installed. They took all precautions by installing walking carpets to protect my home and left the area very clean. I’m very thankful for their guidance and would highly recommend them as well as my service rep Brian who sold me the units.
Thanks

In 18 years Enercare charged 700$+ every year for a water heater. There was only one successfully placed service call that was made during all those years.
I had several issues with the water heater but I was not able to get the service in time because " All our representatives are busy.."
There is no maintenance service on water-heaters so no Enercare service person visited in the last 16 years.
The furnace is 12 years old which based on all the other companies on the Internet is the end of life. Not for Enercare that keeps it to 18 years according to the agent.
I have been trying to cancel the contract for several months now. Each time the wait and transfer lasts one hour plus. Last time, after 45 minutes I was transferred to "loyalty dept" where the agent after hearing I want to close the account told me the systems are down and I have to call again. When I asked to speak to a manager they hang up.
Don't fall for the 2 months free when you want to close the account as I did. They never honored it but continued the billing. I told all my friends to stay away from this company and get all the repairs with a local licensed operator that will service you in time and save you a ton of money.

Great service from Ron and Bob. Booked my appointment and they were here within two hours. They explained the issue and fixed it quickly. Since the hot water tank was a rental, there was no charge to me.
Great service. Friendly staff.

***Update 23 Sept 2024 - Enercare has still refused to review my case. I was trying to talk to customer service and explaining my issue to try to get a resolution. The customer service person claimed to be a supervisor and simply hung up on me. I was completely courteous, did not raise my voice, and purely asked for someone to apply logic and thought to my case. How can Enercare turn my tank on, run it, give it a clean bill of health after the water back-up, say its running perfectly fine, and then turn around and tell me that its all of a sudden damaged and up to me to pay for the tank buyout? I have paid for an enercare buyout before, and I absolutely know as a customer when something is wrong, and this is completely wrong.
Even when Enercare responds to negative reviews on here and says please e-mail us at "smcare@enercare.ca" they do not actually reply back to your e-mails to help ensure a positive experience. Do not rent a Water Heater from this company. They will try to make you pay for their old rusted tanks, and leave you without water.
If I left it up to Enercare and the Field Manager from the Thurston Road location in Ottawa, there would be 6 people without hot water for almost 4 months. This company has not provided any care or help. They just want their money and have not once provided me with any customer service.
I'm still waiting for your help smcare@enercare.ca....
***Update 21 Aug 2024 - Enercare is still trying to make me pay $500 to buyout the tank that their technician said was so rusted and that he wouldn't turn on for that reason (i.e. not because of water back-up damange). I've included pics of the tank, and you can see how rusted the tank is (on pic of the bottom, and one pic of the air holes for combustion). This was not because of the water back-up I had, as noted by the Enercare technician in the recording I have of him. Enercare is also claiming that the tank has been damaged by sewage - for that I have included a picture of the insulation near the bottom of the tank - see how white it is, and not damaged by any sewer! (i.e. it should be dirty and stained right?!?!?) Enercare still tells me that the tank is a write off because of the water back-up damage. If that's the case then Enercare, then what about the rust, where's the water back-up damage on the tank? I supposes that's all normal, and not an issue when running a hot water tank? If the tank was unrepairable, then why didn't your technician red tag it as such (i.e. it was only red tagged for a blocked drain, which was fixed).
I wasn't going to post the conversation I have recorded with the Ottawa Enercare Field Manager, however since Enercare is still trying to make me pay for the tank, I believe that it is important that consumers have the full picture. Below is a transcript of part of the conversation I recorded with a senior Enercare Field Manager:
00:10:06 Me - Right now is the insulation wet?
00:10:07: Enercare - well right now I can't tell but the underneath right there where I'm shining my light, that's the air openings for combustion, so the air goes through all these little holes
00:10:20: Me - oh and that's all rusted in there eh?
00:10:23: Enercare - ya
00:10:24: Me - so is that, is that a reason why you say the tank is no good is the rust?
00:10:28: Enercare- Well ya, I mean
00:10:30: Me - forget about the sewage, would you turn a tank on like that with all that rust in those air holes for the combustion?
00:10:35: Enercare - No, this right here, this right here, I would definitely leave it off
00:10:37: Me - You would leave it off because of those rusted areas there, because its so rusted on the bottom?
00:10:43: Enercare - I mean rust
00:10:45: Me - cause rust doesn't happen overnight
00:10:47: Enercare - Rust is normal because ahhh, you do end up with condensation and then it eventually ....like all around the edge here, all around the edge, that's a lot a, that's a lot a of rust

David and Joshua came today to clean my furnace. They were both very nice young gentlemen.
They were very knowledgeable and also very tidy. When they completed the cleaning, David explained everything they had done and that everything was excellent with my furnace for another year. Thank you guys.
